Preseason open mats will be every Tuesday from 6:40 – 8:00PM in the aux gym in the back of the school near the weight room. Families and their students must complete Gainesville’s Arbiter account activity registration to sign up for the 2026-2027 wrestling team in order to participate. We will be checking this as athletes arrive. Â This is open to all experience levels to get used to some of the drills we do throughout the season. Those new to the sport (get wrestling shoes ASAP) definitely come by to get a feel for wrestling and meet the team.

Tryout / Practice Info:

Boys and Girls wrestling practice will begin daily on Nov. 9th from 2:30 – 4:30PM in the auxiliary gym (near the weight room in the back of the school) .On “Gas Tank Tuesdays” (when we don’t compete on Monday / Wednesday), we will go from 2:30 – 5:30PM. Please use the live google calendar embedded below to see when we will practice / compete, and it will automatically update as anything changes.Â

We do not make cuts. If you stick with us and don’t have three unexcused absences, you are on the team. If team ends up being too large for the wrestling room, we will adjust to having separate JV and Varsity / #2’s practice times. Our parent meeting and final wrestle offs to set the initial varsity starters / depth charts at each weight will be Nov. 30th in the main gym from 6:00 – 9:00PM.

- Equipment to have for practice include athletic clothes, wrestling shoes, running shoes, headgear, mouthpiece (braces), and a water bottle (put orders in now if missing so you have them for the season).
